Indonesia AirAsia Launches Budget Flights to Bali from Adelaide

Indonesia AirAsia will be flying direct between Adelaide and Denpasar four times a week. Flights start from June 25 this year. Budget flights are on sale from now for $199.

The new route will open up the popular tourist destination. It will be accessible to more than 74,000 South Australian visitors each year. This information is according to officials at Adelaide Airport.

The new routes on a 180 – seat A320 – 200 will include 11.30 pm departures on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with return flights leaving Bali at 7.50 am local time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

“We are thrilled to touch down in Adelaide. We will also land in South Australia soon for the very first time,” said Indonesia AirAsia chief executive Vedanta Josephine.

Australia is one of our most important growth markets. We have recently added Cairns and Darwin to our network. Perth is also included.

Currently, Jestar is the only airline in Australia to offer direct routes between Adelaide and Bali.

Virgin Australia scrapped its direct service between South Australia and the tourist hotspot in May last year.

“Bali is the most popular destination for South Australian travellers.

There is significant pent-up demand for flights at affordable prices,” said Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox.

“We’re excited that Indonesia AirAsia has recognised this opportunity and added Adelaide services to its growing network.”

Flights departing from June 2025 are now on sale starting from $199.

Jestar flights around the same time are advertised online from between $279 and $608.
